My Holly

Holly is my second Chihuahua. I just brought her home lastnight. She had surgery yesterday for removal of a bladder tumor and stones. I won't know for a week the diagnosis of the tumor. I wrote this poem lastnight as she laid beside me.

*My Holly* She’s my Holly Jolly She was born on Christmas day. With a smile on her face And always wagging her tail She can never be replaced. She’s my Holly Jolly Chocolate brown fur, brown eyes She’s so very, very sweet And, did I mention How much she loves to eat? She’s my Holly Jolly Loves to take her walks And, loves to bark. She loves to take her naps And, fights Peanut for my lap. She’s my Holly Jolly The apple of my eye The sparkle in my heart She follows me everywhere Never wanting to be apart. She’s my Holly Jolly My Chihuahua, my little girl. She loves me unconditionally Barks and barks to show me Her love will always be. Deborah Ann Tornillo Copyright © 2009

Your Holly Jolly sounds like a marvelous little critter, Deborah, and I hope she fully recovers. As you say, their love will always be.
