 A Safe Place?

 

Today, you came

Swish and swoop

You are the ruler

Ahead of the group.

 

Inside my garden

Planted just for you

Your eggs are hidden

Under the milkweed.

 

You are a monarch

Deep orange in color

Wings of Black, and

White a signal caller.

 

A safe place to be

But, why don’t you see

Metamorphosis

Is coming up the tree.
