Awakening

I woke early to witness this day, a day to become my day of prayer.

The fire from the evening prior was still smoking through the frosted air.

And the mornings  pink sky, illuminated the tall pines of the forest as the birds started to sing

This was to be the start of  my new awakening

So, I walked along a river path, that only the deer could know,

But soon that came to an end, I had No place to go.

I did not want to linger, and re-live my fearful list

but pausing for that moment came  an eagle through the mist.

And as I watched him graze the mirrored water of life

I prayed for my Answers to end this mental strife.

I spoke the words of many and heard the answers of few,

No need to worry of the past, The future is up to YOU!

So I made a choice to climb a ridge, not knowing what might be,

and walked through fields of lavender without responsibility.

I still don’t know the answers, but it no longer matters why

Because freedom of your mind, gives you the chance to fly.
