My Father Here's to my father, the man who made me who I am. He taught me integrity, responsibility. He taught me that there is no independence without self-reliance. He taught me to expect a lot from myself and others. Of course he wasn't perfect. No, no more than I. He could be opinionated, obstinate, and he wasn't always good at showing love, though you knew it was there if you took the time to look. If he sounds a lot like me it's no mere coincidence.
