Poor Aesop continues to mourn the loss of his family....but never fear! This mouse may be down and out but he's certainly not gone for long......Anyone not familiar with Aesop's continuing saga, check back in my prior poetry postings for background on Aesop.

Poem Artwork

A postcard arrived in the mail today
‘Twas from Aesop - he just wanted to say
He was staying with some friends he’d met on the road
A frog named Cynthia, and Tyrone the toad.

They were traveling together, just taking their time
Drifting around with no reason or rhyme.
They’d all had some tragedy befall them thusfar
Cynthia’s boyfriend had been squished by a car….

And Tyrone’s wife met a bullfrog named Fred
So she dumped Tyrone and Fred she did wed.
They thought Aesop though had been thru the worst
With his family succumbing to a cat’s vicious thirst.

Aesop said that he felt it was best to keep movin’
No roots to put down, just traveling and groovin’
He promised to keep me informed of his plans
He knows about AuthorsDen and that he has fans.

He sends you his best and he wants you to know
If he finds himself close - on your doorstep he might show!
So keep your eyes peeled for a poor little downtrodden mouse
‘Cause he just might be dropping by to say “Hi” at your house!

i love it! glad aesop is hanging in there. i am, too, but barely; things are kinda' tough for karla and myself right now. be praying for us; we are going to be looking for another job (am both applying at olive garden tomorrow; i worked there four years and two months prior to coming to texas four years ago, so i definitely have experience at working for olive garden; best four years of my life!), and with us both being physically disabled and on canes or crutches and NOT having a car....NOT good odds. pray one (or both of us) gets hired into olive garden! we could really use a break; the job we have now is NOT going well...we both have bills we HAVE to pay, but we just don't have the $$ now.) (((HUGS))) and much love, your texas friend, karen lynn. :(

I LOVE IT! You have a new career, dear, you are Aesop's biographer. A never-ending account of Aesop's trials and trubulations and maybe, just maybe, a new love down the road for the poor guy. I loved it, as always.
