This poem is dedicated to Kate Clifford who suggested it after reading a comment by Karen Vidra on one of Kate's poems.....Karen had a "close encounter" with a mouse at work! So - Karen and Kate I hope you enjoy this one......
Now brother Guy was not content To ruin little Aesop’s life ‘Twas not enough entertainment for Guy To try to steal Aesop’s wife.
So Guy decided to have some fun Scaring people to him was a treat He’d find a place where humans were And run across their feet!
The restaurant wasn’t far to go There’d be people and lots of food Not only would he pick up scraps to eat He could frighten them and be rude!
Into the door with Farmer John He sneaked and ran under a table A pair of ladies legs he spied High heels and a coat of sable.
He waited for the proper time Then leaped up on her shoe! She screamed and screamed then screamed again ‘Twas chaos I can tell you!
She ran up to the counter The manager saw old Guy So Guy took off along the wall Jumping on feet as he ran by!
The restaurant was full of panic The manager grabbed a broom Guy hid in a corner and laughed at them He’d managed to clear the room!
Guy saw a hole in the floorboard Just a foot or two away So as the manager lunged for him He jumped in the hole and ran from the fray.
Guy laughed all the way to Aesop’s house He thought he was quite clever He scared those humans pretty well A tale to tell forever!!!
Thank you for the continuing saga, Pam. Love and peace to you. Regis

Very clever and funny Pamela. But Guy had better watch out. My cat is a very intuitive and wily old boy and he just loves eating mice. I've put him on Guy's trail !!
Pam, this is hilarious and just what I needed today! Leland is right. This would make a perfect children's book. It conjures up the song by Ray Stevens about the squirrel who ran rampant in "The First Self-Rightous Church." I'm a bit late in commenting, but I'll slowly get there. Love Ya, Janet
LOL i hate mouses...MOST mouses, i should say...i adore aesop and his lovely bride...but guy has GOTTA be exterminated. he's gonna drive poor aesop NUTS (and scare away all the customers and then the place will have to close down and all of the employees will be looking for new jobs--see, it's snowballing already!).
still, and all, a cute write--enjoy reading your mousie tails :)
This is too cute; thanks for the dedication! Glad I could help you write this poem (actually, it was the MOUSE that did it! LOL Stupid mouse...)! Enjoyed; this is going in my library! LOL
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
This shed a whole new light on little Guy. I'm starting to like the little mischief maker!

I knew you were the perfect author for this! Fun and exciting write :-) Nothing like a little 'o mouse running around causing trouble! Wounder what Aesop will do when he hears what Guy has been up to?

Damn, Pam. (That rhymed, huh?) You have a career change. Writing about old Aesop and his neferious brood. This was wonderfully wicked. Thanks.
