MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, SHELLY
Our branch of the King family
was the smallest of the tree.
But, our branch began to grow
when Kevin married Shelly.
First they bought a house in Louisville,
it was their brand new digs.
Then our branch of the tree
sprouted two more twigs.
They had two little baby girls
and before they even started school,
they decided to move to Florida,
cause they were nobody’s fool.
So their house went on the market,
sold in just a few short weeks.
They even made a small profit
much like everybody seeks.
Then they bought a house in Florida
located near a great big park.
Now they have lots of cats,
but their dog, Izzy, no longer barks.
They’re happy, so it seems
and so are those little babies.
Well, they’re not babies anymore,
they’ve turned into little ladies.
They’re being brought up proper,
being allowed to spread their wings.
One’s a burgeoning cheerleader
and the other acts and sings.
Their mom is exposing them to choices,
things like soccer, music and dance.
You’ll never know where their talents lead
if you don’t give different things a chance.
She’s a really talented lady,
of whom I’m really proud.
I think the world of her,
she’d stand out in any crowd.
She’s a pretty special person
and she’s motivated to succeed.
Has she improved our family bloodline?
I’d say she has indeed.
