Didn't even know what the term poetry meant when I first started. Didn't know and didn't much care.

Poem Artwork

I'd simply be just thinking,
wondering about many things.
Figuring on how to overcome,
my pain and sorrow.
Thank God for words,
words express silent thought.
I think of fun and joy,
when can I play again.
I'm playing right at this moment,
doing something I like.

I have a thought so silent,
I dare not write it in words.
I dare myself to do so,
it goes something like this.

I'm tired of living,
but afraid to die.
I'm run down and wore out,
from dealing with a crazy world.
Yet I laugh and smile,
enjoy myself as much as possible.

I can't be captured in death,
so I strive to live in life.
I know very well of my negativity,
it haunts me like a ghost.
It is my shadow,
each and everyday.
I race to stay ahead of what haunts,
it races to front me.

Kowing of my weakness,
increases my strength.
I know I have to fight for joy,
or evil will destroy.
It has been chasing me all my life,
I could easy be a miserable person,
But I'm not,

knowing of the shadow,
keeps me chasing the light.
To me life has never been fair,
nor has it to many others.
I don't feel rained on,
I feel privileged,
it's a great challenge to overcome,
I take it on willingly!

Excellent attitude Grady, they say when you know the problem that's half the battle. You are aware of what's needed so I think you're on solid ground, even if the battle is constant you have won the war through "the Spirit" who gives you strength!

Well I guess we get to the point that we wonder why we do go on and for me I suppose it is curiousity to see what is going to happen next.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
