I want to live in peace, not be tied to the devils lease. I want to die in my sleep, pray the Lord my soul to keep. Living and dying, more or less effort trying.
The harder we try, the more the devil defy. Peace is so hard to come by, lucky to have any before we die. Dying is so easy, in a mean world sleazy.
Death is the only peace true , life has many shades of blue. Between life and death, we're lucky to keep good health. In between going and coming, life remains truly numbing.

I especially like the line "The harder we try/the more devil we defy." So very true.

You write the truth. It would be a blessing to die in ones sleep.
Life truly does have many shades of blue - and the good days can be really good, but the bad days can be intolerable. And I, like you, hope I can just die in my sleep.
