Who wants to make sense,
when it's easier to face
the negative pretense?
Facing up hurts,
the true mirror flirts.
It's easier to live in denial,
until forced to face
the twelve person jury trial.
Many go ahead and face,
find the trump card ace.
Others live in their own head,
denial and fantasy take the lead.
Selfishness and irrationality,
almost rule them in totality.
My face is what I see,
reality, right and wrong
rule me.
But I learned to understand
the fake,
not fear the philosophical take.
At times I leave head,
let fantasy take its lead.
Irrationality I do understand,
with no interest to expand.
Selfishness can be a blessing,
but never the main dressing.
Many times things make sense,
other times they don't
never face up they won't.
Life doesn't add up all the time,
escaping its raft can sublime.
Sooner or later we all lose,
death takes our right to chose.
We live to die,
one truth
we can't deny.

Great poem!
