After my live and in living color experience, I can see why alcohol can be an adherence. Some just want to escape, lifes big mean ape. But in lifes totality, it's hard to escape reality.
The only true escape, is a casket drape. The tough get going, stay away alcohol and drugs, so they know better what they are doing.
An intoxicated mind, might have one walking blind. Doing things stupid and dumb, feelings programmed on numb. Next step can be the judge, and a life full of smudge.
I've been alcohol free for 20 years. Best move I ever made, so I make this poem a serenade.

So it's Grady, well now I no; I know nothing of alcohol, nor of drugs, all I ever knew was the church. But this I do know OnePoet, there are many kinds of bondages in life and I was stuck in my own for far too long. So, I know the wonderful feeling of being free from somethng evil in one's life. I'm so happy for you. God Bless, Holly

Congratulations! Be proud of your achievement. Alcoholism has stolen a few I loved and it's always been the cause of immense heartache in my life. Great poem!

Congratulations my friend, this is something to celebrate and you are so right about the alcohol and drugs, a temporary fix...I have a friend who is an alcoholic though they do not admit it...but I know that prayer does change things...my prayer is for now that they will realize that they need help! I loved this write...it is encouraging and very well written, much to be read between the lines, much to think about. That final judge is a scary thought for those who are lost...I'm so glad that I found salvation nearly thirty years ago. Great write will be back to read more.
