Ran right into myself hard,
but I had an ace card.
The problem is,
we need more than one.
After playing my ace,
the mirror still reflected my face.
I was under my own spotlight,
I knew I wasn't right.
I didn't know what to do,
this had to be thought through.
After many years of thinking,
quite a few times sinking,
it was best to give up drinking.
I won that battle,
but I had to find a baby rattle.
Drinking was part of my toys,
it plays with all little boys.
When I dropped the bottle,
I eased up on the trottle.
I played a dangerous game,
no longer does it call my name.
But we're never out of the woods,
the devil waits with
more evil goods.
Drinking problem got solved,
other problems evolved.
They really make me feel sunk,
but I will not get drunk.
I stand and take it on the chin,
so I guess I win.
Writing & poeming
helped take up the slack,
life is always on the attack.
Each day I prepare for the ride,
me, myself and I still collide.
One
Merry Christmas!
Michael
the devil waits with
more evil goods.
How true, G.
