William Shakespeare stated the "world is merely a stage and we are merely actors."
Never figured I was on a stage, seemed more like a cage. Started out as a human infant, grew to be a young man of distant. Now here I sit up in the years, figuring on my loves and fears.
My act up to now has scar, won't win me an Oscar. At first I didn't know it, but now I'm playing poet. I've played roles a many, except that of a rich man with plenty. This role has evaded me, so has the money tree.
The role of happiness hit big after my saddness. I've been playing it for quite a spell, sad keeps offering its hell. It doesn't won't happy enduring, and it tries to get reassuring. I'm up for Oscar nomination but my money is missing a few denominations. Like millions and billions, and I can forget trillions.
I was glad to get nominated, instead of being decapitated. For this role I had to go to Iraq, so I handed the strip back. Being an older man is a trip, so I'm trying to hand back this strip. Seems like I'm stuck, just my luck. Maybe I'll quack like a duck. But there are hunters around who might try to shoot me down.
Keep going mate....and let the sun shine through!!
