Her in the Baltimore area one more 7-11 clerk was shot and killed. Many times traveling I stop in for coffee and only one clerk be working late night. I think it is a dangerous job, being a sitting duck to rob.
No security, breeds insecurity. Without anyone to confront the hold up man, continues on with his hoodlum plan. With an unarmed clerk at work, the crook takes off with his perk.
7-11 crimes multiplies, one more store clerk dies. 7-11 gets richer, poor clerk ends up in a news picture. 7-11 stays on each corner, employees die in dishonor.
Come work for seven eleven, end up in hell or heaven. The store chain must survive, the employees dead them we can't revive. Just some poor clerks cluck, being a sitting duck.
Wow One, you've brought back a memory for me...one of my best friends from high school was short shortly after graduation. He too worked in a convenient mart store third shift, and also alone. He was pronounced dead at the scene, just a young man who had just gotten married and had a new baby, robbed of his chance to live life to the fullest. Robbed and cheated because of the insanity of having one employee in this type of setting...sitting ducks! Also robbed due to the ignorance of the shooter, all for maybe seventy five dollars...enough to buy a few drugs! Such a sad situation, happening all across the country! One, your writing inspires me, it is written from the heart of a gentle man about topics that we can all relate to....topics about real life! Write on dear friend!

Lots of late night Sitting Ducks everywhere these days - and I wish them all well - life these days is hard enough, but especially hard for any sitting ducks.
To those saying that prison is not the answer, 80% of the parolees will comit a major felony crime, again, again, again, again.....
My heart goes to all these people trying to make an honest buck.

This is why many will not do the grave yard shift. I am so happy a co-worker of mine has come back to day shifts! This huants me as I am working where this can happen.
