Life attacks, the devil and the grime reaper jacks.
Life attacks
beats down the
strongest of backs
In no community
does any man
have immunity
Man doesn't even
own time
cutting life short
is a crime
Knock knock knocking
the devil scores
Lord don't let him
take my life through his doors
It's getting light
I love life sunny and bright
As far I'm concerned
you can take the night
Suffering and dying
just isn't right
Oh sure I know it's a part
of mans plight
but I keep this vision of
staying alive in sight
My back is breaking
and I'm not faking
I really don't know how many
more days I'll be making
Time is precious
and I'm suspicious
The grime reaper
I do not trust
because it's after our lives
that he lust
Knock knock knocking
the devil scores
makes no difference
I'll continue my chores
as long as I can
stir my ship to better shores
Even when I can't
I will invision the ant
excuse me if I bend
and walk with a slant
get out of breath
and start to pant
Great write, Gem, but that title makes my own back hurt. Am getting over a bad back as I write (feeling MUCH better, but still have a LITTLE pain!). Very well done!
