Nothing last forever but time. Time will always be around even after everyone is dead and gone.
Youth has been gone
like dad it left me alone
Quite a few good things
have gone on
Thoughts of them are
still acting upon I use to could run real fast
this is a thing of the past
it seems the effect will last
My eyesight is still real good
but up close words are
barely understood
Up until this date
I use to be a smaller weight
large seems to be my fate
so I should lessen my plate
but I stay in a hungry state
Today I remember
every month to December
I have some regret
but all my necessities are
being met
Of course there are some
things I'd like to forget
Sooner of later I'll be gone
I'm getting cremated
I won't need a grave stone

Words from my own heart, my friend, especially the first two lines, only Dad didn't leave me alone, I was the Dad that was gone. I could have put my name on this and it would have fit me to a T.
