There are thousands of stories
of those placed in categories
either emphasizing there pain
or their glories
Romeo and Juliet come to mind
theirs was a romantic story of kind
All men fit in the lovers category
however many don't rate as a
very good romantic story
For these we have to feel sorry
So goes mom and dad
for them I have felt sad

I was born into this earth
placed here by birth
and for what it's worth
I'm still trying to figure the math
with the devil two steps behind my path
but I refuse to suffer his wrath
Ahead of my travels lies the creator
trying to help me overcome the
evil dictator
What category am I in
born into this world of sure sin
it's hard for any man to win

Here in my last days of living
I try hard to be loving and forgiving
but I find myself failing
as I fight off the devil closely trailing
I'm just a man in this poetic environment
categorized by a writing requirement
I placed myself here by my own hand
not really thinking about the
categorical demand
There is no escape from the quicksand
other than to make a strong stand
