A poem about a token of love but without the emotion behind it, like the token, it will fade.

A race to save the feeling Of pure initial bliss A token to light a fire within That started with our kiss Petals open wide Brightening up the gloom A kaleidoscope of colours Beauty in full bloom But those dark familiar feelings They creep into my head Poisoned winds of yesterday Blowing til buds are dead For love is like a flower It only grows with trust Without pure honesty It withers into dust
