To a friend..

Poem Artwork

To trace your face
softly with my fingertips.
Gazing into your eyes..
Looking for a shimmer..
A small but important sign..
Trying to see into your soul..
To know if you are mine..
Then you hold me in your arms..
I know it is me that you want..
How could this be..
Am I ready for this
Are you ready for me?
You have accepted
all my imperfections..
My past
My present..
All facets of me..
Knowing there are many
hidden in my mind..
Some that need
to be consoled..
Some that need
to be left alone..
and at times
when my heart is cold..
even then you don't let go..
So I hold you ..
Gaze into your eyes and wonder..
If you are but an elusive dream..
something so close
but not meant to be..
Then I see that shimmer..
Could it be strong enough
to light my soul?
You always want to
prove your love..
Even branded it on yourself
for all to see..
A sign to the world..
That your heart belongs to me..
I must admit this scares me..
To love..
To trust..
To expose myself..
My soul
naked for you to see..
Afraid
your love could imprison me..
Trap me ..
But then I am
waiting..
wanting..
salivating
craving.
moments with you..
Just waiting for your love..
To make
My
Elusive
Dreams
Come
True.

deeply felt...and I felt it, too...so hard to accept, at times, when...when we ... well, see ouselves as we see ourselves...and not, in a way, believe, it could be...this one, oh...thank you, Erica...it gives hope and god, you deserve to believe...amen!
You also are a wonderful, honest poet/author...so much heart/soul in what I read of yours/and I admire you...the person/poet...(((E)))

"To trace your face

Wow...
One of the best intimate moments is when you can quietly explore your lovers face like a beautiful work of art. Discovering each and every facet...

Well done...

Excellent tangible hestitancy in your form
here! For me, the love between two people is
literally a very special kind of child that two people nurture and grow together--if you take that kind of responsibility for what's between you, there is less to be afraid of in the vulnerability because "feelings" are each person's responsibility. Vicky

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
