She is walking
down the long country road
All alone in the winters cold..
Just a forgotten child
no place left to go.
She is like an extra piece
to a puzzle
that never could quite belong..
So she will take this road to no where..
She will walk this life alone..
Sometimes cars and trucks
speed by her..
Rushing icy wind
through her soul..
But they never take notice..
They care not where she goes..
So she continues
To walk this road
alone..
She is still
yet a child..
The darkness
scares her so..
She wishes
she had someone..
Who would love her
like their own..
She dreams..
in the darkness..
Perhaps at the end
of this road..
There could be others
just like her..
With no place
left to go..
... the walkers
of the lonely
... the lonely
dark roads.
Excellent Erica, such painful emotions...to be lonely is to feel uneeded and that's a hard thing to deal with! You bring these truths out in your writes and I hope we all learn from them! Love your pic too!;-)
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
