Poem Artwork

I'm just taking up time..
Don't know how this life will go..
Only know it is going fast..
Then suddenly slow..
Tired of waiting..
For what
I don't know..
Waiting for someone ..
Some place..
Something..
Some feeling
To show me what
direction to go..
I know..
Just taking up time..
Day to day..
Month to month..
Year to year
See what life has to bring..
Making it through
One dilemma..
After another..
Holding on to hope
As thin as string..
Taking up time..
Waiting in lines..
Trying to stay
out of lives..
Be on my own..
Feeling suffocated
Crowded..
Yet alone..
Love
Friendships..
They are too hard
to keep..
So I prefer to be
on my own..
Taking up time..
Just waiting my turn..
See what happens next..
What lessons
I have to learn..
Just taking up time..
Taking up space..
Breathing the air..
Waiting on fate.
To show me my place.

Yes another great write Erica .John Lennon
once said I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round .
Life is like a waiting room .
Isn't it?
We all come in and wait for that door to open . One day it surely will .

Erica,
sounds as if you are trying to nurture your inner sacred space..We all need that..Your soul is speacial and diffrent...That is why you need more sacred ground...Great spiritual insight!

This was lovely and sad, I will never believe you are just taking up time, for you reach us deeply with your poetry, and wonderful personality, I understand your feelings here so very well,

Erica
felt this so much
yes, it is like that sometimes, this life and we must hold onto that
"hope/thin as a string...."
as it is, at times...perhaps it will grow in weight, as you find, begin to find...as we all need to..
oh, this one got to me, my friend,
so well done, yes, so felt...
Love it, hoping that hope becomes stronger, becommes a rope, a post to hold, whatever...but, you've touched your truth and touched me with it..yes!!!!!!

Such wistful feelings.
It's better than serving time...but I have not written that one yet.

You've lost your purpose in life if you are just waiting around and no one can get it back buy yourself. Good poem. I love that cartoon.

"Trying to stay out of lives". I identified strongly with that. In fact it appears we may be in the same boat overall if this is at all autobiographical.

erica,
know the feeling,
seems i spent most
of my life waiting--
to "grow up",
for the right time,
for something

all i van say is hang in there--
maybe it'll get interesting!

your poem captures the feeling very well -
good write
