Suffer the children...

Poem Artwork

She has eyes,
but cannot see
The torment she receives
Wandering down a road
Maturity, only ten years old
Why she wonders
silently
She has ears ..
She hears the screams of pain..
But she is a girl herself..
Only wanting to end this fear..
Why lord..
Must she hear..
Why lord..
Must she see..
To be witness to
the world cruelty?
Do you not care..
Leaving us..
Your children..
In despair.
I pray their eyes do not
see what I have seen.
I pray they never hear
the echoes in their mind..
That their bodies will make it through ..
the torture so many will endure.
And they hold on..
Cry out to their mothers..
Their fathers..
The very ones who are killing them..
But love is strange..
In a childs heart..
You even love ..
The one who rips apart.
Why Lord do you send
these children of despair?
To show me,
To show them
What life is supposed
to have been.
To show there is nothing
worth fighting for in life..
Purgatory for the children..
Die by the knife..
Why God ..
Do you not answer..
End all this pain..
Why have you forsaken us..
The children
with no name..
Children.. once..
Not anymore..
Now they are nothing..
Damaged goods..
On blood filled floors.

Very heart-wrenching...Must be how God felt when He let His Son die...There is an evil one that rules this earth, during this phase of our life, he is the one responsible, not God. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that perfection is yet to come. An excellent write Erica!

I agree with Andre .."poetry SHOULD be the face of reality even when it is a dream"...
I see you see the world as it is...somehow I'd like to believe that the tree that falls makes much noise but the forest quietly expands and grows..let us have faith that the Creator knows WHY....

Excellent write..you are an Angel in action...Bravo!!!

I weep for these children. And yes too many of them are forgotten, too many of them have not anyone to hear their painful cries. A heartbreaking write, but written well by it's author. ~SH~

Never rest Your pen; don't let Your quills dry.

"Why God" is flowing through the river of imagination showing the foam of injustice on its way to the lake of reality.

"Why God" is what poetry is to be... The face of reality even when it is a dream... and the picture of a dream showing the facts of life.

I Salute the Author of "Why God" with the accolades of my heart.
