Poem Artwork

In a vacuum
she seeks her heart..
Frozen with fear..
She finds
No tomorrow..
She tastes..
She sees..
She feels
Yet knows..
She is but
an illusion..
She is a ray
of light
That reflects..
Emptiness..
Her capacity to trust.
Grinds with torturous
silent screams.
All is halted..
Life stops..
People grow weary..
Deep dark memories..
Take bites of her soul..
From deep within..
A place she
does not know..
She is but
a reflection
of a human..
Once she
Could love..
Be loved..
Now distant
in the wake
of the roads
of fate she
has traveled..
Miles and miles..
She has walked..
This road of life..
To find..
She has to stop..
Barricaded ..
Dead end
The dead-end
of her mind..
A memory
She does not
really know.
Does not quite
remember..
But there..
In the deepest places..
within her..
Desperately wanting out..
Wanting the pain
to scream forth
But her mind holds
the secrets..
That her soul craves..
Yet fights and fears
To finally be freed
Simple peace
with herself..
Has become
her dream.

soaked in Erica, peace is a hard earned icon. throw away the rule book, make your own rules according to you and your life dilemma and peace will come to you on your own terms. Don't pay me any attention Erica, just had to say this. love G

Erica, this is outstanding in every way...even the appearance of the poem is constricted, tightly bound, just how the "voice" in the poem must feel.

Rather profound, my dear Erica. It's wonderful that our poetry can 'scream' for us, where sometimes we ourselves fear to scream.
