I am sitting for a spell..it is warm this pretty day in May..

On my swing..on the side porch

                      ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A tall glass of lemonade I did pour..swinging on the swing..

Taking a sip of iced lemonade..refreshing it is

The glass of lemonade..I rest..glass in hand

Leaned it on the swings arm..a lovely yellow butterfly flits..

                                   ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Oh! here she comes closer..I'll be..she is sitting on my tall

Glass of iced lemonade..sits for a bit..flits a bit..drinks a sip..

Of my yellow lemonade

                     ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Off she flutters with her wings so grand..sitting a moment..

Flowers in the garden..sipping nectar so sweet to her

She is lovely yellow butterefly on her travels to sip nectar

From the beautiful flowers as she flits..

Gardens flowers beauty are her path of life

                      ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Well, now I'll sit this glass of lemonade on the table..fill myself

Another tall glass..and lean my hand with the glass of

Iced lemonade on the arm of the swing

                      ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Yellow butterfly may come by again today..lets wait and see..

While I swing on my swing..on the side porch..a sip of iced

Lemonade from my tall glass..mmm!  so refreshing

                      ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The afternoon is waning and I haved rested for a spell..oh! lovely

Yellow butterfly..thinking of you now..flitting a bit..a sip..of

Yellow lemonade

                       ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

MAY..a warm day..the lovely yellow butterfly may flit for a bit..

sit for a bit..and sip..tomorrow..path of flight

THE SWEETNESS OF THE LEMONADE...ATTRACTED THAT LOVELY BUTTERFLY, TO THE POINT WHERE IT WAS UNAFRAID OF ITS FLIGHT'S PATH. THIS IS A SIMPLE OBSERVATION THAT DISPLAYS THAT ANSWER TO SO MANY OF OUR WORLD'S PROBLEMS. THE BIBLE SUMS IT UP LIKE THIS, '...A SOFT ANSWER, TURNS AWAY WRATH...' AND A OLD CLICHE' SUMS IT LIKE THIS, '...ONE CAN CATCH MORE BEES WITH HONEY THAN WITH VINEGAR...' AND A SONG SUMS IT UP LIKE THIS, '...WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE, SWEET LOVE...'. WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Truly captivating - you put me right there in the spring garden with the lemonade and the lovely little butterfly.

Enjoying commentary. The butterfly could be a metaphor for the freedom won on your memorial day.

My Dearest Lady Mary Ann, This is just as refreshing as
the first time that I read it...such a lovely place to be free,
like the butterfly, and drinking such sweet nectar of the lemon!!!

Oh, how refreshing is cool lemonade on a warm day, but even better... the words you write of the butterfly's path to your glass. Lovely, whimsical words that leave me as refreshed as... a tall, cool glass of yellow lemonade. Enjoyed this immensely! Joy L. Hale

Maybe that yellow butterfly hoped you'd have spiked that iced lemonade with a little vodka. Well! You never know. Hahaha
