Humility

Poem Artwork

With stings like bees
the hens poked him
and pecked him
a sleeping eagle – ironic
Tempers, like earthquakes, tectonic
Away the eagle flew.

A raven did goad
like a lovelorn, forlorn
jilted maiden.

“Woe, oh woe, where
Doth thou go, you’re
Far too foolish” the raven
did scold.

The eagle did fly
soaring the sky
taking the higher
Road.

A hawk laughed outright
“Eagle, don’t try
you’re a pitiable sight” attacking
the eagle with all of its might.

Over the mountains
the eagle flew
gliding the thermals
a glorious view.

Living the life
God ordained him to
with wings stretched wide
the eagle did glide.

Superb poem and pic Andy! I love eagles did a painting o (my best) sold it for $500.00 Wish I had it now. Most I ever made on a painting.

...even a mere butterfly can fly like an eagle, mind over matter for sure..good message Andy (reminds me of a poem I wrote "take my wing"

the wonderful stanima it takes to be
this eagle "Humility" represents many trying
to keep others in a box, or from thier own flight
glad to see you spread your wings
