Beautiful thoughts beautiful dreams

Beautiful valleys beautiful streams

Clouds in the air stars in the night

Under the duvet lovers delight

Fighting for freedom fighting for right

Scraps taken away after delay

A ploy to destroy

Where can we go with nothing to show

Cat on the window dead man in the snow

Warmth taken away the ten-minute delay

Too much of this; too much of that

The rich man's belly grows fatter than fat

Beautiful thoughts and beautiful dreams

Somethings went wrong under legalised themes

Cat by the fire, men sleep the snow

People are hungry, no place to go.

Ok so under the duvet lovers delight. The cat knows and sees what is on the outside, yes the rich get fatter whild so many others go hungry. I enjoyed this and and the picture is great.

The cat is by the fire , all snug and warm, BUT man is out side wih no place to go. This could be a part of life's scenes. which happen at times. THE RICH SEEM TO BECOME RICHER as poverty exists.

Well penned Andy. Love the thought of cats by the fire but so sad the thought of hungry people with no where to go. You have contrasted it perfectly.

"Somethings went wrong under legalised themes"

Hah! A lot of things went wrong is my way of thinking.

Loved this cool poem, Andy.

Your words exude the dirty rotten fact that a human life doesn't matter to some.....Volunteer at the shelter....be someone to listen to his or her problems. Such a moving poem, Andy James Turner!! Thank you for this offering!

Love ya!

Stripped of punctuation but with good rhyming and cadence, you reveal some of the contrasts faced in life, the good and bad. There is nothing more content than a cat sleeping by the fire. Nor disturbing than a man, dead, facedown in the snow.

Way to go, way to go.

and the chorus...

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
When you coming home dad? I don't know when
But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then.

In the end, the cat has the nine lives. A poem to ponder on. Amen
