Poem inspired by an internet picture of a silver limousine allegedly belonging to a Middle Eastern oil sheik
What will a million barrels of oil buy you?
A palace in Riyadh?
A private jet?
A silver limousine?
Should we invade Iran
And take over their reserves?
The media says that Iranians love terror
But the Ayatollah begs to differ.
Donkey carts break down in the desert heat
The oil sheik zooms past in his silver beast
He says wealth distribution is equal and fair
But this poet begs to differ.
When the silver limousine bursts a hose in the deep desert, the donkey cart will continue on like it has for four thousand years, with little need for the riches required to run limousines.
