A senior UN official, John Holmes, has had to cut his trip short after a number of bombs went off during his short stay in the capital city of Mogadishu. His main purpose was to talk with government to open safe corridors to reach the starving people who have been displaced by recent fighting in Mogadishu. It is shame when the international community responds to a certain catastrophe and the people of the land who claim to be the authority are supressing the humanitarian efforts to alleviate the very people they were ruling. Sad.
Here we have humanitarian supplies
Over there we see starving children
Between them there lies a distance
Too short to bring the two together
But too long to cover it without ado
When the heart is a stone cruelty is passion
The whole situation is very sad. This has happened so many times in the past and there does not seem to be any ending to it. It just keeps happening and yet it needs to be stopped now. I will keep you in my prayers as always.

IT IS SUCH A FRIGHTFUL MESS, so many wanting different things, and Ethiopia adding to the mess. Time for NATO to click in to action, the UN is too powerless...
