Four Ugandan Peacekeepers have been killed in a roadside bomb that went off while they were on duty. Sad
The world sends food consignment
to save lives of innocent children
But sea pirates seize the ship
Before it reaches intended destination
If it makes safely on Somali shores
Bureaucracy hampers unloading jobs
government imposes hectic paper work
And when it finally finds its way out
Supplies might not reach the target
Roadside bombs go off while ferrying food
Killing Peacekeepers escorting the food
Making all corridors risky and terror-ridden
Discouraging the world from helping Somalia
Letting our camp people die from hunger
To destroy ourselves we don't need an enemy
We are able to do that task expertly
And to the satisfaction of our enemy
We are the best enemies of ourselves
Is that not a Paradox?
"We are the best enemies of ourselves" says it perfectly. Sad, we have not learned, and I wonder if we ever will. Powerful, heartshattering write, effectively penned sadness.
