With bombs and bullets
Our nation has been burned
Our people have been displaced
Our children have been killed
Our women have been raped
But never our dreams shattered
Our border is porous
So anytime of the day
Anyone can come in
And anytime of the day
Anybody can get out
Somalia is just like a forest
With no one in charge of it
To walk through the forest
One must be as cautious as possible
As any type of game could be sheltering in
You can make it safely without harm
But that doesn't mean the bush is safe
And to make the forest safe for people
One must not raze it to the ground
To get rid of terrorists from Somali soil
One should not burn the country down
Even in dealing with crooks and killers
A wise approach is most advisable today
Uncle Sam, be wise please
to make the forest safe for people
One must not raze it to the ground
I sadly wonder if we will ever learn this lesson.

As always, Abdi-Noor, we humans add indignity upon indignity, force upon force, trying to impose our will upon others. The clash of wills only inflames....
Somalis must stand and shout that their wills will not be destroyed by anyone. Somalis, stand against the Islamist fanatics; stand against foreigners if they shoot and do not listen. Cry freedom...

I feel you on this poem. I can understand wanting to help others but that doesn't mean it has be done in a destructive means. There are people who live where the bombs are dropped...where the guns are fired. War is not the only solution.

American Govts can be too gun hoe, it took us to sort out the mess they left in sera leon, in just 10 days we brought peace, as the world fears our SAS and Ghurkas. Now England is breaking the special relationship with a Rep American Govt, things on the worlds stage will change very fast. Our new Prime Minister is pulling out of Iraq, and has a heart for Africa. Indeed he was the man who has rid Africa of dept to us, if the nation is not corrupt...Again England leads the way..Better to make friends than future enemies...Though to be fair, America has never won a war. England last lost in 1066.
You would be wiser writing to the English ambassador today, as in every battle we've one we are the only nation to not take the spoils of war, and help the beleaguered country to stand proud again.
Our paradigm is people are people, who need help and justice. America just see's enemies...Just look at how we won in malaysia,"enemies are future friends" whilst in the same kinda war, America lost in vietnam.. and are sadly the most hated nation, sadly because the american peoples are the friedliest most loving, along with the aussies...
But politcs gets in the way...
