Unaware of how she brings a smile to my face

She just does what comes naturally

Runs up to me and gets all in my space

Her excitement to see me always to that degree

Even if I just left a half hour ago

Concept of time isn't part of her psyche

I could have been gone a day she wouldn't know

But to her the sun rises and sets around me

A sweet face, soft long fur, a disposition that's kind

She helps the farm house not seem so far

A diversion from what I temporarily had to leave behind

She is and fits the part of a golden dog star

Dogs aren't discriminate with their love so I keep it in perspective

But her unconditional affection for me is certainly effective
