Sunrise Smiles © 1.17.15 Sherry Bach #14 of 19 - Topic Suggested By Edmund Hubard I had to smile when I saw this topic It's one of my favorite things Not much on this earth in my opinion can top it So many qualities of life that it brings Changing beauty, renewing hope The promise of a new day Redemptive value of starting over God's handiwork on display I've seen the majesty of the mountains A snow capped covered hill Lights in the city with splendid fountains Will delight, captivate and fulfill But I've never felt so close to God As when I smile and open my eyes To look upon the ocean east And gaze on the glorious sunrise

The sun was bright pink as I reached the top of the hill and started down the other side. It was a glorious sunset, the sun centered in the middle of the glowing pink skyline.
Yet the sunrise, as you describe, adds the wonder of a new day to start anew, thankful for God's renewing grace. As you write, "Changing beauty, renewing hope."
Thanks for the inspiration! 19 new beginnings will come smoothly for you, I'm sure.

Not living on the east coast or on an island, I've seen very few sunrises over the ocean. But I have seen sunrises, and they can be as inspiring as your poem.

Splendid job on this one. In all my travels, I believe the majesty of the mountains is my favorite, especially the Bear Tooth Highway. A close second would be the hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park. I visited the West, and I fell in love with it, so I had to go back five more times. Sorry...you got me carried away, thinking about my travels. Glad to see you are in touch with God.
