MUSIC STARTS MY DAY

Each day would be brighter if we could only start with a smile every morning.

MUSIC STARTS MY DAY
 
Every morning is a new beginning,
whether there’s sun or rain.
You may wake happy and smiling,
or with a heart filled with pain.
 
Instead of sitting in silence,
start the day with your favorite song.
Your spirits will be lifted
and your toes will tap along.
 
Sing along with the music,
pretending to be a bird.
Sing long and loud,
loud enough to be heard.
 
Add a little dance step
as you go about each chore.
The day will pass by quickly,
and you’ll forget to be bored.
 
Music is healing for your soul
medicine for your heart.
If you haven’t put music in your morning,
it’s time for you to start.
 
My sweetie taught me this lesson
which I’m passing on to you.
When you start each day with music
you’ll chase away the blues.

I do exactly the same thing, Donna. Ever since I was a child I awakened every morning with a different song in my head that I proceeded to sing throughout the day! I can't explain it! But ... giggle....my grown-up daughter recently admitted to me that now she does the same thing...genetics? Music is life, love and laughter for me....Loved this uplifting poem! Just found out about you in one of Richard's poetry comments. Glad I did!

I love music, and I love singing....I will often times catch myself inattentively crroning a ditty from long ago I thought I had forgotten. Unfortunately, some of my friends always suggest I sing "tenor...." ten or twelve miles away! I ingorew them...
