Poem Artwork

Anybody can write
a poem but only
a few poets can
make it speak, and
it is in the shelter
of this hope I live.
I am a poet
but I don’t write poems
poetry writes me.
It squeezes my soul
and bestows
the pen of peace
with the ink of my core
and fosters my consciousness
with the beauty
of the nature
and the compassion
of the civilization
and liberates it
from the
optical delusion
of revulsion
and the ugly
façade
of the materialism.

Well, however it is produced, this is definitely POETRY! I really enjoyed the idea of the muse truly being the one in control...forcing those ideas out. Really good piece here!

Well written. You might try breaking the last line into two:
facade
of materialism.
In that way the rhythm remains entact and it empathizes the word facade.

Fantastic! I agree; my intent was to go to a track meet for blind children today but, instead, I doubled over in pain. Al took Doogie but while they were gone I put all the pages together for an inspirational book entitled, "I Found You." Never before have I been able to assemble a book, down to the index, in eight hours time! Obviously, Someone else had other plans for me today :)!

Firstly, Bhuwan, you don't live in the shelter of your aspirations; yo live in the VAST MANSIONS of them and fulfill them completetly!! Secondly, this idea of the soul being squeezed to write fascinates me as I think it expresses so well the "just have to" factor that many scribes feel. Thirdly, I'm having thoughts about how the urge is expressed: you are a "peacemaker" and your pen speaks peace; I have felt myself to be a "birther" at times and, to me, often writing a poem is like a "birthing"! Hey, perhaps getting a bit graphic and heavy here, and perhaps it's a boy/girl thing anyway!? But fourthly, I just admire your ability to encapsulate such profound thoughts with such brevity and deftness... something that NEVER works with me! I shall endeavour to sit at your feet and learn, Master Muse. Thank you. Kate xx
