Happiness can take
you anywhere
but you have to
pay your own fare.
It is not an alien sensation;
Oh! The unhappy ones,
it is just the victory
of the heart over the
convulsion of the fate
and no matter how happy
or gloomy you are
you still have to smile,
when you are sad
and sob, when you are happy
and it is in this cycle
the cogwheel of emotion
forever rolls on…rolls on.
A fine, descriptive, philosophical piece, Mr. Thapaliya - not only about happiness - but with respect to the faces one must wear in spite of the present lack of such in his or her life at times while dealing with a seemingly-unending variation of emotional states.
"Happiness can take you anywhere but you have to pay your own fare" - what profound truth this is, Bhuwan, and should be inscribed in stone somewhere! As long as we search for happiness outside of ourselves, we become dependent on others and externalities to become our happiness-providers. But you rightly suggest that it is a state of being on the inside which, when you inhabit that place, is not something that you are easily robbed of when knocked about by life's bumpy roads!! It is a wonderful thing to know this inner equilibrium. And tears as well as smiles are all part of that rich fabric of happiness, for you cannot enjoy one without the other.
