With my own eyes,
I have seen the death
spring like a bud, from the cliffs of life.
I have seen it in Afghanistan,
seen it in Iraq, seen it in Sudan,
seen it in Somalia, and seen it in Ethiopia.
”Ah! But in my heart, it is beginning
to blossom now.“ Oh! Is it the grief,
of the Nepalese-from Rolpa to Rukum,
Kalikot to Salyan and Kavre to Pyuthan,
which has come inside my soul?
“Ah! How hot it is, how it burns!”
Nothing’s serene any longer.
Everything is tenebrous as the dusk.
Wherever I look, I see the death,
the special creation of God, staring back.
Lingering for a moment, on the outskirts
of my existence, and then passing on
to find its prey, the one, who is amongst us.
another thoughtful and compassionate poem, Bhuwan. as always, enlightening.

You are amazing at these poems that draw attention to the tragedies all around us, you are like an angel with these poems, helping those less fortunate.
And yet the child in the photo still see's the beauty in God's creations. But as we grow older and experience all these things you have mentioned we no longer experience her innocence. Sad that it is often the children that do suffer from our actions.
These are strange and difficult times, Bhuwan. There is so much going on, and we are convenced that we must choose a side. There are the extremely rich and those who are forced to live in the most inhumane of conditions. There are educated people with brilliant minds and bright futures strapping bombs to their bodies and giving it all up for their beliefs. There are soldiers fighting wars that will never be won. There are children who have never known freedom and perhaps never will, who have never sat down to a real meal. With all of this spinning around us, every country still holds tight to their barriers and we all refuse to merge. Until we find a way to live in harmony and in the mindset of One World, life, like a mudslide, will continue to run downhill. Your poem is a beam of light in a very dark situation, Bhuwan. Your words fall not upon deaf ears, but upon paralized souls. We are all puppets whose strings are being pulled by evil puppeteers who would have us believe that they are working in our best interest. Our best interest is peace and love for all and the bounty from God's earth to feed all of mankind.
Take care,
Sherry

Wherever I look, I see the death,
It does sadly seem that way far too often these days, Bhuwan. And this is a most powerful reminder and message to us all.
