I am a child
I yearn to live
Till I become a man
And die the natural death
Am I asking too much god?
I am a child, unfortunate child
Born in the shadow of death
Sunlight to me is a remote dream
Yet, I am fighting a loosing battle
Pretending to win, but deep down
I know, my days are about to end
I am a child, god’s precious pearl
But I crawl like the reptiles
In the rough grains of time,
For the extension of my survival
Hoping to embrace the warmth
Of new dawn, as promised by
The resolution of the, “UN”, and
I crawl because I cannot walk
I cannot walk because I am very weak
I am very weak because I don’t eat
I don’t eat because I don’t have food to eat
I don’t have food to eat because of the famine
And famine will prevail forever and ever
Because of the vicious circle of poverty
That terminates the life cycle of children like me
Yes, I am a child and I yearn to live
Till I become a man and die the natural death
But I know I will perish into the sands of time soon
Though my strong conviction tells me that
There is enough food in the world for all to eat
If it is distributed amongst all with even means

the picture alone speaks volumes to this mother of 3 who's been down the beaten path knowing that I know nothing of true poverty or the things you've brought out here. This was a very deep poem... my thoughts go out to you for your insight and heart and to the children who need these things
Yes I wonder
About this life blunder
Many have a lot
Some even don't own a pot
As I view through my eyes
I too despise
The terrible view I see
All this life horror move me
If I live a million years
I'll shed a billion tears
My soul is in pain
My heart suffers disdain
Unless we all are out of the rain
Which is impossible
And possible
Maybe possible
Who knows
On life goes
This moved me to places my friend, very good reminder. love Grady

Is this life really the illusion they tell us it is..I wonder..for illusion still has pain, still feels thorns, still feels hunger still dies a parched death...is it really as they say it is?....
Thank you for reminding us of the terrible suffering of children around the world. My hope is that more people will become involved in helping to alleviate hunger throughout the world. Excellent poem!
A very powerful, moving, truthful, insightful poem, Bhuwan! I am always moved to tears and angered at the knowledge that there is enough food for everyone, yet due to our methods, willingness to do nothing, politics and greed, people starve! What a moving poem! Bravo!
This is an excellent write and it brought tears to my eyes. What are we to do? I pray for an end to this suffering. It truly pierces my heart and makes it bleed.

The waste of food drives me nuts when I think of those that would do anything for just a bite. A subject that really disturbs me because like you ended your poem it is so unecessary. There is enough. Great write.
Bhuwan, excellent thoughts. Very sad poem and an effort that needs our attention. Well done.

I doo not speak for others but I know in our country so much food goes to waist. This is emotional and excellent humanitarian poem Bhuwan you scrape the concious with this one.

Five years have passed. The sequel to the award-winning Chapel of Eternal Love, this book revisits the same couples in the first book, and where the lives have taken them since they left the altar at The Chapel of Eternal Love
