Poem Artwork

CANGKOU, QINGDAO

Two small hills
brother and sister
husband and wife
that's obvious
that's life!

KONG ZHU, BEILING PARK

Twirling their tops
like graceful Tai Chi masters,
They come here and forget
Rheumatism and arthritis.

I love these, kj. You seem to have absorbed the feel of the
Chinese in your fine writing. -gene.

Your few lines of well-chosen words are like a fat, ink-laden brush applying deft strokes to rice paper, Ken. Your visual eye is so acute and your mind incisive, though drenched in heartfelt empathy. I particularly love Windfall... just excellent. The voicing is like Janet And John: the "Look, John, Look!" of those old primary readers. Notwithstanding the stark contrasts and open-eyed realism, these cameos have a quiet, contemplative and serene mood... so much so even I sound serious in reviewing them! :)) xx
