West Lake
I was in Hangzhou
drinking Longjing tea
blowing cool air over the leaves
watching for heaven's sake
the earthly rounds people make
around the famous West Lake.
Pretty white houses
with tiled roofs,
canal bridges and moon gates.
I walk slow here
like many a Chinese poet
from long ago.
