Jesus Storm

So tomorrow (Oct 9 2010) I do my first poetry reading. I think I'll include this one.

Poem Artwork

Jesus Storm

 

The sky is black and heavy

Wicked wind blows strong

Doors to the bar blow open

Hubbard glares out his song

 

A loud hiss from the Snake Farm

A drunken poet’s dream

Rooster on the checkerboard

Woman in red stifles a scream

 

Lightning cracks the dark sky

Church steeple splits in two

Jesus orders Captain and Coke

He smiles and stills the storm

 

Hubbard slips out the back

Hops the last train to Amsterdam

Jesus kisses the silent woman

Is he God or is he a dead man?
