Resurrection Day #2

 

Upside-down and hanging

On a cross outside Capital Hill

Thieves on each side

Follow on down to hell.

 

Crowds surround their savior

Screaming, gnashing of teeth

Distraught children of the light

Orange sun begins to set red.

 

Preacher’s daughters painted

Glossy red lips parted

Sons of prophets wonder

Why the sky falleth upon us?

 

Rising slowly out of the pot

Melting no one together,

A poor little smiling baby

Pulling wild fire from the sky.

 

Fading Washington turns blue

Mothers begin to smile

Rats turn back to deep sewers

Earth turns and moon glows.

of charlatans and false-prophets, yes, washington's full of them these days: teleprompter-reading, war-mongering, wall street oligarch mascot empty suits! if i were a rat, i'd head for the sewers too, much nicer beneath the beltway!! good poem man, best wishes always!

You certainly have a unique view of the way things could happen, Dayvid. There is a typo in the second verse of the second stanza (nashing/gnashing). Thank you for sharing this. I love the ending in particular. Love and peace to you,
