When you betray* somebody else, you also betray yourself. Isaac Bashevis Singer* WE CRY BETRAYED An oath is meant to represent A pledge avowed in pure consent When choice is made to honor word One spoken truth.....by duo heard Yet claiming oath, to heart alone No other to....see efforts shown Lost in the shadows of neglect The oath to self.... dims in respect No voice of other.......as a binder No message, note, or quick reminder And when we tread on darker shades Upon our oaths..... we cry.........betrayed hormonal poetry
