A jolly good fellow

'Old king Cole was a merry old soul and a merry old soul was he'This is the first two lines of a poem I learnt by heart when I was a small girl.Now I am writing of a person I know who reminds me of this poem. Raja means King in Hindi

  


Raja  dear is a merry old soul

And  a merry old soul is he

He loves his wife,but  he loves his mama dearly too

And he loves his sisters three

He loves his children , a son and a daughter

He loved his business , a good man  he be

 So many many friends he had for sure!

But the worry began when he  did’nt come out strong

To handle all of ‘em together in one go!

He  lost his father quite early in life

Now quite young a teen, to earn  his  bread

 Scorned and robbed, cheated and broken he be

When the family baton on his shoulders to log on

All alone  bearing life's trials he was  soon

 Warded off evil with the same fervour and passio

  Rose up on life, when one good life wasted  it was thought

But the faith in his God,and love for one and  all

The principles and values he learnt of his father,  stood him by

Helped him to turn around his life as might be.

 Back to feet once again and he  was sure shining bright

 As a dotting father to his  sweet daughter be

 Loving man to his  wife and a good son to his mother 

The various caps he donned  surely well once again

He figured out his life simply in these varied roles

For each  person in his life who were  very dear to him

Not only a merry old soul is he!

But  also a jolly good fellow he be!
