Richard Cederberg aka Bergman Chiselpecks of the Cookie War Chronicles, made a digital painting of his daughter Crista Custeau. And to my surprise then asked me to write a poem for her. I was both honored and sweetly inspired.
Dedicated to Crista Custeau, Richard and Michele's daughter
As She Dances In Between
Beautiful wise, mystery eyes Soul of the woman as child She knows the secret, yes she can fly Why do you think....she smiles
Knowing much more Then she would share It's her anchor on this earth Confidants warmed by kindred care For her heart is a golden worth
Glow from the shadows Breathes gentle light When she's chosen to be seen For she is the candle, amber and white As she dances in between
Anita, I almost missed this one. You and Richard make an incredible team...your poem, a lovely tribute, Richard's artwork--simply stunning; daughter Crista Custeau--enchanting. Well done to you both.
Glow from the shadows
Breathes gentle light
When she's chosen to be seen
As a father the thrill of basking in the light of my daughter starts when I see her long slender shadow walking down the hallway.
This thought just from part of a verse.
This is a beauty of this poem: each metaphoric verse and line can comfortably be detached from the body to stand on its own merit and inspire.
The evocative piece is a poetic ballroom dancefloor. One can't help but let thoughts link the graceful arm of each metaphor and dance in between each intricate line.
In choosing Anita's esteemed reputation to pen this exquisite tribute to their daughter, Crista, Richard and Michele demonstrate that they are connoisseurs of choice wine.
Anita, I too will ask for a sip from the matured casket of your gift for the appropriate occasion. If, I could be so bold as to say so.
You've made me smile throughout, Anita, and, like Richard, I feel marshmallowy warm, not burnt, browned with love, care and consideration, tempered by heat learned, because, after eaten, it tastes so much better, that way...
Like Crista. Young, verveful and considerate. Like your understanding, Anita. Like my two at-home daughters. Like love. Your/their pride is our pride. And, why not?

Love the art-image, Richard!! You have such a knack for multiple linear extrapolation in your chosen images, I can't help but laugh with pleasure and wonder!

Richard and Michelle are indeed blessed to have such a great daughter. She certainly makes them proud of her and this poem will be etched in their hearts forever. Victor
Loving art as I do I am awed by the talent that first captured your eye Anita. This is an inspiring look into more than just an art but the spirit and passion captured in words of Christa. The beauty of the woman child, the individualism and the awe of the inner soul...all wrapped up in the dance of a father's love and the talent of dear, sweet, Christa.
Just awed am I at the spirit of the whole am I.
Anita you outdid yourself with this one. Richard you are so talented I bet your daughter will delight in this and treasure it always! Kudo's to both artist and poet!
This made me feel soft and marshmellowy inside. Thankyou so much for taking the time to see deeper than the surface. It amazed me how deeply you saw into my character in my Dads picture.
Love and Kisses

Wonderland has graced your pen again. You have extrapolated much from a two-dimensional creation.
Your gift has plumbed new depths of richness. Bergman called - he was crying. Your work with Daivie's art and now this is truly a blessing. Know that you have touched our hearts here and that you have all our deepest respect and admiration.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
