It's Monday morning little ones
Hope your weekend was big fun
Early birds with energy
Act like it's not six, but three

Everyday begins the same
Until they fuss and then complain
Poor little ones have such long days
Which does explain, their edgy ways

Be safe, be safe
Be patient, wait
Don't jump the gun
Please walk, don't run

The thing to learn
It's not your turn
Hands to yourself
Impulse on shelf

Don't hit or spit
Be still just sit
Sometimes we share
At others, stare

No nasty words
You may have heard
No finger guns
Just number one

Don't climb the table
Just cuz your able
No calling names
In spitefull games

Don't throw your toys
Come on now boys
Or it's time out
Oh how they pout

All this before they get to class
Coats and bookbags, what a task
Shoving, pushing down the hall
September comes, and then we fall
