There are many with their handsome salaries
Who laugh at me because I have low money income.
This makes me feel extremely vexed and angry,
But when I go to my mentor, I throw off that feeling
And return to a better mood -- he has washed,
Without my knowing it, all the others from me
By his instructions on what is good within myself.
I have attended him for so many years now
To be out of the knowing that I'm without revenues.
There is nothing which Heaven does not cover,
And nothing which Earth does not support.
But is it true that seeking for the prestige and name
Of being an extraordinary and marvellous man
One doesn't know that he thus handcuffs and fetters
His own person? Isn't it the point of thought?
