It started small

And then it grew

Without being seen

Until it emerged

On the swamp surface

To become

The snow-white lotus flower

In the right hand

Of the departing Buddha

That evoked a smile

On the face

Of the first Zen Patriarch to be.

Many years ago doing yoga I recall Zen but I really don't know when.
