In my dreams,
The spirit is soaring high;
It uses its celestial orbits
To fly thru to the seventh heaven.
My earthly efforts
It doesn't consider as attainments;
For it, it's mostly nothing
To implement them all effortlessly.
I tread along my pathways
Thru the vales and dales;
I try to make my body get on
With Mother Earth before
It will know to a certainty
That she is waiting for it
In quietness and for long.
Thank you for telling me that there are "celestial ruts." I will certainly avoid them. And from what I hear of Thoreau, "Most may leave lives of quiet desperation," so their attainments certainly would only amount to a hill of beans. And, I'm sure that mother Earth wants her minerals back so she can make more of us. More is better, right?
