Then, Someone Invented ‘Planned Obsolescence.’

Now - All Polluted by Chemicals and Refuse!

Now - Millions of Carbon Dioxide Dragons -
Belch Forth Their Noxious Fumes -
And We Pay Tribute to Foreign Oil!

But - We Are The Masters!
You make some valid points once again. I am inclined to think that the Country began to fall apart in the 60's when we began to murder our own babies, took God out of our schools and gave God the finger. Now it is in dollars we trust and not God at all. Well, if China were to call in its loans to the USA they would bankrupt us for good and then own us. I felt oppressed before I finished this piece, Tom. Ugly, disguised and disgusted, with myself... As always, once upon a time, now. Man, I guess you got to me! There's no place like this left on this world...
Once Upon a Time... And how I miss those Good Old Days now. "Buy American," has now sadly been replaced with "Made in China."
Can't even buy a true 'American Car' anymore. If you buy that Chevy, today, to see the once good old USA, odds are that it's frame was made in Canada; it's transmission in Japan; and you guessed it - its engine was 'Made in China.'
Once upon a time, we didn't have poets writing about all the above, and now we do, and its scary to have them do so, because we can all see our own demise in the not so distant future...ed
