I rarely ever write about Sports ... Ergo, this is mostly Recreational ... The PIC? I titled it - 'IRATE WIFE' ...

SUV ? © - Tom Hyland - 2/9/12 Sport Utility Vehicle? Once upon a Time ... Detroit produced Vehicles With Four Wheels and Four Doors - They were called Sedans. These were mostly for Families ... As opposed to Two-Doors And ‘Sports’ Cars - For ‘Younger Sports’. By and By - Newer, Longer, Larger Vehicles ... Were introduced with Longer Wheel-Bases And ‘tagged’ as ‘Family Station Wagons - Most of these had Luggage Racks on the Roofs. Mom, Dad, the Appropriate 2.5 Kids, Grand-Ma, Grand-Pop, Toys, Playpens, Pillows, Cooler, Thermos, Picnic Basket - And even ‘Ole Rover’ could climb Aboard! More often than Not ... Dad was usually the Driver Especially on long Vacation Trips - Mom tended to be a bit ‘Uneasy’ in that Long Boat! In the Late 40’s and Early 50’s ... Some of these ‘Babies’ had a Special Look Real Wood Panels adorned the Sides - Aptly dubbed as ‘Woodies!’ By the Early 60’s, the Wood ... Became Imitated Wood Panels Painted Wood-Grains were ‘High Fashion’ - Remember the Ford ‘Country Squire’? We once had one - Used ... But still Larger, Longer, more Spacious It had a Dual-Hinged Rear Door - Opened Left, and Down, like a ‘Tail-Gate.’ Many, if not Most, of these ‘Wagons’ ... Had a Crank-Down Rear Window Also Unless you were ‘Rich’ and had ‘Power’ - So, you could Asphyxiate the Family with Exhaust Fumes! Not long after a Few People DIED ... Someone Invented ‘Spoilers’ These were Supposed to Aero-Dynamically - Diffuse those Fumes! SURE! At one time, the JEEP CHEROKEE ... Was the ‘Top-of-The-Line’ Preferred Wagon, as IT had Four-Wheel-Drive! Expensive, but For the Really Rich, RUGGED Travelers. In 1984, CHRYSLER created a New Line - The Minivan ... A Smaller version of a Recreational Vehicle - RV If a WINNEBAGO was out of your Price-Range - Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager, or Chrysler Town & Country. Sliding Doors, Extra Seating, Taller ... Convertible Interior Arrangements These ‘Babies’ were really NICE! And Big Sellers for Years. Then, in the Late 90’s and Early 2000’s ... Detroit decided to ‘Put Its Eggs in Another Basket’ The SUV - Sport Utility Vehicle - Most had either: 4WD or AWD! According to Wikipedia ... Women Drive More Than 50% of These. Ergo, the Term - “Soccer Mom.” ASSUMED SAFER BY THEM! In my Personal Experience and Observation ... Most Women Just Can’t Seem to Manage To Master ‘Judging’ Distances in These Mammoths - Especially - Parking and Backing Up! THIS ‘FACT’ HAS CAUSED ME TO ‘SPEW’ ... MANY, MANY ‘CUSS’ WORDS! I KNOW - I KNOW - I’M A ‘MALE CHAUVINIST PIG!’ SHOW ME AN ‘EXCEPTION’ ... AND I’LL SHOW YOU A RARE EXCELLENT DRIVER! As you are Well Aware ... I could go On, and On, and ON ... Likddf it a lot. In the early 70's I had a Forfd Torino wagon with a 351 cc engine and dual czrbs. I think it got about 34 gallons a milke!!!

Lots of cared for cars came and went, a sign of the times it seemed, although the idea that newer was better crept into the scene. I never subscribed to that idea, except where an old tried and true accomplished plan was succeeded by a newer version of that old plan, including the best of the old idea in new clothes. SORRY GALS????? C'mon Tom, you had every right to assume that it was a gal who parked like that, but it's also very likely she had some motivation first.

WOW, that means I was at one time REALLY RICH as I owned 3 Cherokee's with two being of the Grand variety...man, I must have been even richer than the REALLY rich...but that time is sure past...as u see what I am driving now...oh well it must have been good while it lasted, as I have little memory of all that richness...Jurseeeeeeeeeeeeeeey
